Casualty reduction through better vehicles, roads and drivers
We use our research experience and real world resources to provide consultancy services to those who require expert advice and solutions to policy decision making, road and vehicle safety systems, their design and injury reduction capabilities.
The Centre has an excellent track record of providing bespoke consultancy services to international clients, including governments and major motor and component manufacturers. More recently we have added road design and expert witness services to our portfolio for the benefit of those wanting our objective research based support in these areas.
A major strength is the Centre's well established network with other reputable Research and Development organisations, enabling us to provide complementary services to support our single access point approach for clients. In particular we now work closely with MIRA Ltd and can offer integrated services for the full range of research and engineering facilities. The newly formed joint Midlands Intelligent Transport Systems centre is developing new resources to enable it to support research and engineering activity to ITS research and development. The five topics describing the VSRC's research capabilities are not mutually exclusive. More than one area can identify safety issues to reduce the number of casualties and their injuries from transport systems.
