Overview: This 3½ year project is funded under the EU FP6 programme. The 11 partners are from 4 EU countries and India and include universities, research institutes and 4 OEM’s.
Objectives: The aim of the PISa project is to develop and implement reliable and fail safe integrated safety systems for a wide range of powered two wheelers which will greatly improve the performance and primary safety and which can link to secondary safety features.
Main features of project: The specification of the components of the systems developed will be defined from relevant accident mechanisms and rider assistance functions, taking into account HMI implications.
Our role: The VSRC is leaders of Work package 2, User needs and requirements and will review existing PTW accident data and literature in order to define the system requirements. The VSRC will make a significant contribution to the system specification and the validation & evaluation of the integrated safety systems developed. |
